I am super excited to read some of Dantes's work. I have already read most of the collective works from the first 6 weeks as a religion major. However, I picked some of my favorites to read again through a new lense of storytelling instead of religious significance. I also think the unit relating to Texas will be cool to learn about as I am from Texas.

I chose this picture because it depicts one of the initial conflicts of the tale of the Ramayana. Here you can see Rama searching for his bride to be but instead, she is distracted by the evil demon Ramana to be stolen away. This kicks off Ramas adventure to find the bride and vanquish evil.

  1. This all looks great, Kev: I am so glad there are lots of topics of interest to you. And about the Ramayana: the other class I teach is all about the Ramayana and the Mahabharata, and we have some beautiful comic books and graphic novels in Bizzell for that class, which are all available as extra credit reading for this class too. So if you would be interested in looking at some comic books from India on Ramayana themes, they are in Bizzell and you can use them for extra credit reading in this class too! Ramayana Amar-Chitra-Katha comic books (or any of the comic books; the collection is huge, and it's how kids in India first learn about the epics!)
